The Volunteer Action Center was founded in 1995 to promote volunteerism and build the capacity of non-profit organizations. It has held numerous workshops and conferences during the past several years, including Volunteers Are Cornerstones; It’s A Wrap: Year End Financial Tasks for Non-Profits; Volunteers Nurture By Nature; A Match Made in Heaven; and Firm Foundations: – A Financial Workshop for Non-Profits. The VAC also mobilizes volunteers to help people who are elderly, chronically ill, and/or disabled remain independent at home through its FaithLink program.
