In operation since 1975 the Abilene Adult Day Care is a non-profit organization that provides an alternative to traditional assisted care centers. We offer a compassionate, secure and socially stimulating environment that allows our clients to have some independence and assist families with their care. Our center enables many elderly and disabled persons to remain in a family environment and allows the family a measure of respite care for their daily lives.

The goals of the program are as follows:

(1) to keep individuals out of institutions as long as possible;
(2) to provide social contact and enrichment experience;
(3) to make the burdens lighter for the younger members of a family;
(4) to provide a nutritional program and pleasant surroundings for the elderly who otherwise would be much alone; and
(5) to provide transportation in some form–for travel to medical clinics, dentists, and physicians’ offices, recreational trips, therapists, and adult education classes–over and above the normal travel to and from the center.

Raffle Prize
