From the Fidelians of America: “As I’m sure you are aware the Fidelians of America is an Italian-American service organization located in North Haledon, New Jersey. Chartered in 1939 the Fidelians have existed for 70 years as a non-profit organization. Throughout those years the organization has been involved with many charitable causes, especially those dealing with exceptional and challenged children. In 1975 we started our own program, which has drawn local and statewide acclaim. Our program consists of a summer camp program for physically and mentally challenged children, mainly children with Down’s Syndrome and children that have been classified as emotionally or neurologically impaired.

Our Youth Committee, for the past 4 years has distributed Christmas gifts at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, as well as Mount Saint Joseph’s Children’s Center in Totowa. The Fidelians also has an Outreach Committee which is always open to suggestions from our supporters to help families or groups that are in need of funds. Recently we helped a family in Pequannock that was in need of a conversion van to help with the transportation of their son who has spastic quadriplegia a form of cerebral palsy.

There is no way we could do all this without the help of the MANY wonderful people in our community. This year, as one of our fund raising events, we are holding our Second Annual Harley Davidson Raffle.”
