“Fight Like a Girl” Pink Motorcycle!

When Steve Koontz’s good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, pink and motorcycle just seemed destined to come together. A motorcycle enthusiast, life-long Shelbyville resident Koontz put his compassion for his friend and his passion for motorcycles to work to begin building the custom-made motorcycle, complete with bright pink accents and the signature pink ribbon in honor of all women fighting breast cancer. In the U.S., breast cancer is reported as the second-leading cause of cancer death amongst women today. While most people just wonder what they can do to help, Steve took action.
After a year and a half of work to complete the motorcycle project, Koontz, of Fighting Chance Customs, announced that he is donating his work of metal and machine art to the Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Vicky Wagner Breast Cancer Assistance Fund. The one-of-a-kind ride will be raffled off and proceeds will benefit women in Shelby County and surrounding areas who are battling breast cancer. Specifically, money raised from the “Fight Like a Girl” Motorcycle raffle is being allocated to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses for cancer patients – whatever the specific need.
