The Allen Pearson Emergency Services Foundation was created in 2009 by the family and friends of Detective Allen Pearson to honor his life and legacy for the sacrifice he made to the citizens of the State of North Carolina and Lenoir County. This foundation wants to continue Allen’s work and serve others by helping the emergency service workers that protect the citizens and community every day.
To do this, we will serve the many departments and workers that are paid and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighter, and emergency medical personnel who serve their communities across the State of North Carolina through financial and physical support. We are recognized by the State of North Carolina and the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 c (3) non-profit charitable organization.
The Allen Pearson Foundation has established many goals including:
· Promote the dedication and sacrifices of all emergency service workers to the public · Provide financial support to emergency service departments and personnel through gifts and donations to purchase equipment and provide advanced training · Create and honor law enforcement personnel by awarding the “Allen Pearson Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.” · Assist emergency service workers in times of personal hardship or financial difficulties.
We plan to reach our financial goals through fundraising events and collection of donations from businesses and citizens. One of our main fundraisers is the Annual Allen Pearson Foundation Softball Tournament that is held in Kinston, NC each year. This foundation is always looking for new members to assist in completing our goals. In addition to the members, many area businesses and sponsors provide financial support through donations of money and gifts.
