Raffle Benefits

In February of 1972 MCDS was known as Hope Preschool for the Handicapped, with a ½ day program for 6 students (children) in a donated room at the First United Methodist church. In the fall of 1974, services extended to include disabled adults and moved to 609 West Kansas where the first workshop was established. The workshop program was to subcontract with local industries for certain types of work. The first initial contract was with Roll-Deck of McPherson making hinges for the company’s line of pop-up campers.

Over the years, MCDS has never wavered from its true goal to advocate the wellness, independence, and respect that the MR/DD population so readily deserves. Multi Community Diversified Services is a provider of supports and services for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities in McPherson County, Kansas.

This is our 35th Anniversary of providing services to people with disabilities, and part of our anniversary celebration is the 2009 MCDS Custom Chopper Giveaway. The drawing will take place in conjunction with the MCDS Ride for Independence Poker Run. The chopper will be on display at various regional events and businesses until the winner is drawn.

Any proceeds generated through donations for this drawing will help fund programs and services for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Your generous support can truly make a difference in the lives of people who need assistance or training to learn new skills and achieve their goals.
